NAPD Respond to Vehicular Hijacking Incident

North Aurora, IL— On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at approximately 11:59 pm, North Aurora Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Jessica Court due to a reported vehicular hijacking that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicated that the male victim was sitting in a parked vehicle, at which time a dark colored sedan pulled up next to him. In quick succession, a group of assailants exited the sedan and forced the victim out of his vehicle. The victim was repeatedly struck by the offenders and robbed of his belongings, including the key to his car. After obtaining the car key, one of the robbers entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away. The remaining suspects entered the sedan they arrived in and left the scene. The victim reported that one of the suspects was wielding a firearm during the incident.

A responding officer located the victim’s vehicle driving away from the scene of the robbery. The driver of the vehicle fled and subsequently crashed the vehicle in the 100 block of North Lincolnway. The suspect fled and was not located.

The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention.

The victim described the suspects as black males, all of which were wearing ski masks and dark clothing. More specifically, one suspect was reported to be approximately 5’10” tall, wearing a black ski mask, black long-sleeved shirt with a camouflage pattern, black jeans, and white shoes.
