We have some smiling new faces joining our community! Please give a warm welcome to North Aurora Police Department’s new officers, Officer Kevin Blake and Officer Alejandro Mora Marquez!

Both officers were sworn in on Monday by Mayor Mark Gaffino and will be headed to the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield for training for the next four months.

Officer Kevin Blake grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Plainfield High School, after which he joined the Marine Corps. Blake said he has always wanted to be a police officer and continue to help others.

Officer Alejandro Mora Marquez grew up in Los Angeles, California before coming out to Illinois where he graduated from Sterling High School and then Aurora University. Mora Marquez has lived in Aurora for the past four and a half years with his wife and says he’s a Los Angeles sports fan and loves playing soccer.

Please also join us in congratulating former Detective Mike Robinson on his promotion to Patrol Sergeant! He was sworn into his new role on Monday by Mayor Mark Gaffino.
