North Aurora Police Department Introduce Body Worn Cameras

North Aurora Police Department Introduce Body Worn Cameras

We would like to announce to the community that we have begun rolling out body worn cameras for our officers, nearly 2.5 years before being required by law. Illinois law requires police agencies of our size to have implemented body worn cameras by January 1, 2025 but we had already begun the process of researching & purchasing the cameras before that law took effect.
At this time, we have five officers trained & equipped with body cams, with the rest expected in the near future. Once the rollout is complete, all officers, including supervisors, investigators, and command staff will be equipped with the cameras.
Here is Officer Dave Parr wearing a camera on patrol.
