The North Aurora Police Department is aware of TikTok posts

The North Aurora Police Department is aware of TikTok posts circulating nationwide concerning “school shootings and bomb threats at every school” in the United States, today December 17th, 2021. These threats do not list a specific state or location and NO CREDIBLE THREATS are known for our community.

We have been communicating with our law enforcement and school partners and have no reason to believe that any North Aurora school is threatened. We take school threats seriously and will investigate any threat made as well as bring criminal charges when warranted.

As a precautionary measure, we have had and will continue to have an increased police presence around our schools today.

We also want to remind you that if you see something, say something, as school safety is the responsibility of the entire community. Please report any threats or suspicious social media activity to the State of Illinois’ Safe2Help Hotline by calling 844-4-SAFEIL, texting SAFE2, or emailing HELP@Safe2HelpIL.com.

As always, if you believe a threat or social media post is an immediate or active threat to school safety, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
