Special Board Meeting

Minutes of the meeting – March 22, 2021

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm, by Robyn Stecklein and was held electronically via Zoom.  Roll call was conducted and members present were as follows:  Robyn Stecklein, Steve Van Loan, Mark Swoboda and Mary Licar.  Village Administrator Steve Bosco, Board Attorney Charles Atwell, Finance Director/Treasurer Bill Hannah and Attorney John Kelly were also present.

Application for Disability Pension Benefits of Mark Shillair – Hearing on Village of North Aurora’s “Motion to Intervene”

Attorney Atwell told the Board that he had received the Village’s written Motion to Intervene and that Attorney Booth, representing Mark Shillair, had no objections to the Motion. Attorney Atwell indicated that it is not unusual for a municipality to file a Motion to Intervene, and he recommended to the Board that they approve the Village’s motion. Attorney Atwell clarified that the Village cannot vote in the matter, but will be able to participate in the process.

 

Steve Van Loan made a motion to approve the Village’s Motion to Intervene, seconded by Mary Licar. A roll call vote was taken: Van Loan – Yes; Stecklein – Yes; Licar – Yes; Swoboda – Yes. Motion passes 4-0.

 

Attorney Kelly thanked the Pension Board for their consideration.

 

Adjourn

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 by Steve; seconded by Mark.  A roll call vote was taken: Stecklein – yes; Swoboda – yes; VanLoan – yes; Licar –yes.  Motion passed 4-0.
