VILLAGE OF NORTH AURORA
POLICE COMMISSION MEETING
January 24, 2022 at 18:00hrs.

CALL TO ORDER
A motion was presented to commence an open meeting of the Village of North Aurora Police Commission by Commissioner Hatchet and a second motion was made by Chairperson Jungels; the meeting commenced at 18:01 hrs. – All in favor.

ROLL CALL
Commissioners present: Chairperson Phil Jungels, Commissioner Brian Reid and Commissioner Lisa Hatchet.

Old Business
1. Approve meeting minutes from the 4th Quarter 2022 open Police Commission meeting held on 24-Nov-2021. All present in favor.
2. No other Old Business.

New Business
1. The Commissioners retained Commissioner Phil Jungels as Chairperson of the NAPD Police Commission for 2022. All present in favor.
2. The Commissioners retained Commissioner Brian Reid as Secretary of the NAPD Police Commission for 2022. All present in favor.
3. As requested by Chief Fisher, the Commissioners reviewed N.A.P.D. personnel staffing needs for 2022 based on the following:
a. Planned staff retirement(s) in 2022.
b. Patrol staff permanent disability disposition 2022.
c. Approvals by the North Aurora Village Board to expand Patrol Officer staffing in 2022.
4. Based on N.A.P. D. immediate patrol officer staffing needs the Commissioners reviewed a request by Chief Fisher to advertise in appropriate police bulletins, (i.e. – The Blue Line Illinois) for Lateral Transfer applicant consideration for qualified Sworn Police Officer candidates. All present in favor.
5. The North Aurora Police Commission has approved completion of a new eligibility list for Probationary Patrol Officer Candidates for 2022. Accordingly at the Commission’s request, the NAPD has arranged for a Candidate Orientation meeting scheduled for 25-Mar-2022 with testing by C.O.P.S. scheduled for 26-Mar-2022 at 08:00. The testing fee per candidate is USD40.00. The location will be determined within the next week (presumably Jewel Middle School at the time of our meeting).
6. No other new business.

Adjournment
A motion was made by Commissioner Reid to adjourn the open meeting, this motion was seconded by Commissioner Hatchet; all in favor – Motion Approved. The Open Meeting adjourned at 18:54hrs.
