Discussion of Bands
Community and Board Relations Coordinator Natalie Stevens gave a brief overview of the band selections, which had been sent to the Committee members in advance of the meeting. The Committee proceeded to discuss each category of music sharing favorites and ones they had not cared for. Committee members were in favor of trying some new genres for this year and discussed both tribute bands, newer cover bands and how each band would play off each other.
Ultimately they chose to go with Blooze Brothers and Spoken Four for Friday and Generation and Boy Band Night for Saturday. They provided a few backups as well. Stevens said she would contact the coordinator and see about getting those scheduled for the select times/nights.
2024 North Aurora Days
Jessi Watkins provided information about on-site attractions for North Aurora Days. One new item was a video gaming truck and she noted she had been in contact with the organizer. Stevens said she would follow up about setting up a contract which was estimated to be around $2,700. The Committee also discussed the various options for other entertainments including an obstacle course and a giant inflatable slide and Stevens said she would reach out to see what pricing and availability looked like.
Julie Shoemaker said she had reached out to NA Baseball about participating in this year’s event and was awaiting a response. The School District would like to participate but discussed have an indoor option in case of inclement weather.
Lynn Miller said she would discuss with Stevens about the sponsorship brochure.
With no further discussion, Jessi Watkins made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:01pm, which was seconded by Mark Gaffino.
