CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Berman called the meeting to order.

In attendance: Mayor Dale Berman, Trustee Mike Lowery, Trustee Chris Faber, Trustee Mark Carroll, Trustee Mark Gaffino, Trustee Mark Guethle. Not in attendance: Trustee Laura Curtis.

DISCUSSION
1. Discussion of Medical Cannabis Law
Village Administrator Steven Bosco explained that there are several locations in the Village that would allow for a dispensary for medical cannabis. The use cannot be denied but can be restricted through zoning. Community & Economic Development Director Mike Toth asked the Village Board for direction regarding where to allow these dispensaries.
Bosco noted that there are no more than 60 dispensaries allowed in the state and no more than 21 in the city of Chicago.
Trustee Faber said that cannabis is a legal medicine and that the dispensaries should not be treated any differently from a Walgreens or a CVS. Trustee Carroll asked about any research connected to crime and this type of business. Toth said that when this was adopted in Colorado, it went smoothly and they did not have the crime that was expected. Carroll noted that these dispensaries are making a lot of money for communities.
The Board decided not to restrict the cultivation centers/dispensaries and to allow them as a permitted use in the Village for the 5 districts noted by Staff.
