DISCUSSION
1. Discussion of Village Logos and Slogans
After discussion regarding the two slogans and logos which were reviewed at the last meeting, the Village Board decided to move forward with the circle logo containing the elongated bridge and the slogan, “Crossroads on the Fox.”

2. Discussion of North Aurora Town Centre Wetlands/SSA
The North Aurora Town Centre wetlands were established by Rubloff LLC on Orchard Gateway. The maintenance of the wetlands has come into question. The main concern is that there is buildup of silt in the outflows that lead to the neighboring subdivisions. This can cause flooding in the future if the Village does not take action. Currently there is no funding source to fund the wetlands. An SSA was supposed to be put in place. There is a Letter of Credit (LOC) in the amount of $220,000. The Village can go after the LOC, but after that is gone, there is no funding to maintain it. It was decided at Staff level to create an SSA.

The Board decided to move forward with the SSA and send letters to the business owners for notification.

3. Discussion of Randall Highlands Planned Unit Development Amendment
The current developer of the Randall Townhomes has approached the Village, looking to increase the number of townhomes on the property. There are seven acres between Comiskey and Kilberry that are part of the commercial portion of Randall Highlands. The Board was asked by Staff if it would be willing to revisit the land use to include additional townhomes. Trustee Curtis asked if the townhomes would be rentals or owner occupied. Mike Toth said they would be rentals. The developer of the townhomes said that the concept plan would include 74 units which would average 1,480 s.f., 2 & 3 bedroom units with 2-car garages.

Trustee Faber was in favor of keeping the property B2. Curtis said she was in favor of the plan since she did not want to see vacant land. Curtis said it is a land locked parcel and the Village needs to increase its daytime population. Trustee Guethle was in favor of the plan. Trustee Gaffino said he was unsure because he didn’t like the idea of rentals and does not want to give up the B2 properties in the Village. Trustee Carroll said that the property was designed for commercial and does not want to give up the B2. Trustee Lowery said he does not like the fact that the townhomes are rentals but would like to see other options.
