APRIL 7, 2014

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Berman called the meeting to order.

SILENT PRAYER – MEDITATION – PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

ROLL CALL
In attendance: Mayor Dale Berman, Trustee Laura Curtis, Trustee Chris Faber, Trustee Mark Gaffino, Trustee Mark Guethle, Village Clerk Lori Murray. Not in attendance: Trustees Mike Lowery and Ryan Lambert.

Staff in attendance: Village Administrator Steven Bosco, Finance Director Bill Hannah, Community & Economic Development Director Mike Toth, Police Chief David Summer, Village Attorney Kevin Drendel, Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock, Water Superintendent Paul Young.

SWEARING IN OF NEW PATROL OFFICER
Kyle Jensen was sworn in at this time as the Village of North Aurora Police Department’s newest patrol officer.

PROCLAMATION
1. Arbor Day – Mayor Berman proclaimed April 24, 2014 as Arbor Day in the Village of North Aurora.

2. Approval of a Resolution Authorizing Application or Kane County Riverboat
Grant for the 2014 Adams St. Water Main Extension

3. Approval of the purchase of 2,000 V3 MIU Radio Reads Units for $173,000.00

4. Approval of a one time payment of $1,822.70 (55 hours of vacation time) in lieu
of time off to Jeremy Barkei

Lowest Responsive Bid for the SSA 4,8,9 & 11 Grass Cutting (2014-2016) in the Total Amount of $20,408.00

7. Approval of Bill List dated 4/7/2014 in the amount of $343,777.63

ADMINISTRATOR
Village Administrator Steve Bosco reported that the Village’s IT Specialist started his employment with the Village today.

The strategic plan sheets are back from Sikich. Staff will meet this week to consolidate goals and will be discussed at the Board meeting in May.

ATTORNEY’S REPORT – None
FIRE DISTRICT – None

VILLAGE DEPARTMENT REPORTS
1. FINANCE – None
2. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – None
3. POLICE – Chief Summer stated that the Village will be participating in the Drop it and Drive campaign. The program’s objective is to raise awareness of and end distracted driving.
4. PUBLIC WORKS – Mike Glock noted that this is the 6th year in a row that the Village of North Aurora has qualified for Tree City USA.
5. WATER – A Precon meeting was held with the painting contractor last Friday for the east tower painting project.
