Free Curb-side Leaf Pick-up – East Side
October 24, 2016
2016 Free Leaf Pick-up Program
FREE curb-side leaf pick-up will run from mid-October through late November based on the schedule below. Residents should place their leaves at the curb on the appropriate Monday for pickup during the week.
Residents living on the WEST side of the River, pick-up will begin on Mondays the week of:
October 17, October 31 and November 14
Residents living on the EAST side of the River, pick-up will begin on Mondays the week of:
October 24, November 7 and November 21
Leaves must be raked to the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Monday of the pick-up week. Leaf piles must be free of any foreign materials including branches, plants, rocks and landscape waste. Leaves should be raked in a row parallel to the street, at least 1 foot and no more than 5 feet back from the curb. Piles should be less than 2 feet in height. Leaves MUST be out at the curb by 6 a.m. on Monday of the pick-up week; however, leaves may be picked up at any time during that entire week. A log of streets that have been serviced will be kept, and trucks will not go back down streets that have already been serviced.
To allow better access for the leaf collection equipment, please keep leaves away from mailboxes, ditches, pipes and culverts. Residents are encouraged to park in driveways or garages, and not on the street in front of leaf piles. Snow, rain, freezing temperatures or mechanical difficulties may delay or halt curbside leaf collection. Residents may choose to bag their leaves, and Waste Management will pick up leaf-filled Kraft paper bags free, no stickers required, on Fridays during October and November. All other landscape/brush waste will require a sticker. The last pick up for leaves and brush/landscape waste (sticker required) will be the last Friday in November. Landscape pick-up will then resume in April. For questions, please contact the Village Hall or Waste Management at 800-796-9696.
