The Village has recently enhanced our emergency alert system by switching from Nixle to OnSolve CodeRED to provide more effective notifications during emergencies as well as options for various “community” alerts.
Registration is FREE and is a simple yet crucial step to ensure your family stays informed and prepared for any local emergencies. To register for alerts, please visit https://accountportal.onsolve.net/northauroraIL or text NORTH-AURORA to 24639 to receive a link to create an account.
Emergency alerts, of which you will automatically be enrolled for when registering your account (be sure to make sure all contact information and alert preference selection is accurate!), include things like missing persons, gas leaks, water boil advisories and other items that are urgent, time-sensitive situations. You can also opt-in for the following community alerts when registering:
🔴 Traffic Alert: Notifications regarding long duration road closures and detours. Alerts can be sent at any time other than overnight hours (10pm—6am)
🔵 Community Notice: Notifications regarding Village programs and updates including items like clean-up programs, garbage delays, etc. Sent during business hours.
🟤 Community Events: Notifications regarding upcoming Village community events, parking information, and real-time updates at major events. Sent during business and/or event hours.
🟠 Crime Prevention Tips: Notifications providing informational tips and preventative measures to keep safe. Sent during daytime hours.
You may change your profile settings at any time by logging into your account to add or remove any of the opt-in groups. Don’t forget: when registering your CodeRED account be sure to select your preferred contact methods — phone call, text, email, etc. — and make sure information is entered for each option.
All alerts will be sent via text from the above 24639 SMS number and phone call alerts will come from either 206-536-3695 or 206-536-3696 if you would like to add those numbers to your contact list so you don’t miss an alert!
