POLICE RECORDS SPECIALIST
The Village of North Aurora (population 17,441) is seeking candidates to fill the full-time position of Police Records Specialist in the North Aurora Police Department during the Police Department’s afternoon/evening shift. This position is responsible for entering records into the Police records system, greeting the public and responding to questions, answering phone calls and general inquiries, and working in collaboration with other agencies and the state’s attorney’s office.
Position requires a high school diploma or GED and one to three years of experience, preferably in customer service or dealing with the public. Applicants should also possess the knowledge of computer and electronic data processing and preferably some experience of knowledge working in a municipal environment.
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.43 per hour and is eligible for overtime. The Village provides an excellent benefit package including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), health insurance, vacation leave, holidays, sick leave and other benefits. Hours of work may vary but generally will be Monday through Friday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. subject to the needs of the Department. Selected finalists will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
