๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ UPDATE: Bagged Leaf Program and Yard Waste Collection Extending 2 Weeks ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

Curbside Collection Update 11-30-21: For anyone on the west side who had their leaves out by 6am Monday and whose leaves have not yet been picked up, leaf collection is still ongoing. It is anticipated to finish up in the next couple days. We have been working with equipment malfunctions and thank everyone for their patience. Crews are continuing to work on the final curbside leaf collection on the west side. Thank you!
November 17, 2021
Due to the fact there are quite a number of trees in the Village that are holding tight to their leaves, Groot is extending the free bagged leaf program for two additional weeks. Those weeks include:
ย
๐Ÿ‚Week of December 6
๐Ÿ Week of December 13
ย
On your regular pick-up day now through DECEMBER 15 you can continue to put out BAGGED LEAVES without stickers for pick-up.
ย
In addition, Groot will also collect yard waste WITH a sticker through this same time period on your regularly scheduled pick-up day. As a reminder, Groot will be offering 2 free weeks of yard waste pick-up in April.
ย
This extension will help residents with options to remove leaves as the Villageโ€™s curbside leaf program ends next week on the west side. Regarding the curbside collection, a gentle reminder that leaves are to be raked to the curb in the parkway and NOT put in the street by 6am Monday morning.
ย
Please also remember to not include grass clippings or other yard waste with leaves as otherwise those bags will require stickers.

The villageโ€™s free leaf pick-up program will run from mid-October through late November based on the schedules outline below:

Residents living on theย EASTย side of the River, pick-up will begin on Mondays the week of:ย ย October 18, November 1 and November 15

Residents living on theย WESTย side of the River, pick-up will begin on Mondays the week of:ย ย October 25, November 8 and November 22

ย

Leaves must be raked to the parkway along the curb byย 6 a.m. Mondayย of the pick-up week and must be free of foreign materials such as branches, plants, rocks and landscape waste.ย  Leaves should be raked in a row parallel to the street, at least one foot and no more than 5 feet, back from the curb.ย  Piles should be less than 2 feet in height.

Leavesย MUST be out by 6.m. on Mondayย of the pick-up week with leaves being picked up at any time during the entire week.ย  The Village keeps a log of streets that have been serviced, therefore, the leaf-vactor truck will not go down streets a second time, once they have already been serviced that week.ย  If leaves are not raked to the curb by Monday, 6:00 a.m. of your pick-up week, residents will either have to wait for their next scheduled pick-up week, or bag the leaves for pick-up.

Residents are encouraged to park in driveways or garages during this operation, to allow better access for the leaf collection equipment.ย  Please be sure toย keep leaves away from mailboxes, ditches, street lights and fire hydrants.ย  Please note thatย snow, rain, below freezing temperatures or mechanical difficulties may delay or halt curbside leaf collection.
