VILLAGE OF NORTH AURORA
POLICE COMMISSION Special Open Meeting
April 4, 2024, at 18:00 hrs.
CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Hatchet presented a motion to commence the 2nd Quarter open meeting of the Village of North Aurora Police Commission, a second motion was as made by Commissioner Jungles; All present in favor with the meeting commencing at 18:03hrs.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners present: Chairperson Lisa Hatchett, Commissioners Phil Jungels and Brian Reid.
Old Business
1. Approve 16-Feb-2024 – Special Open Meeting minutes – All present in favor.
2. No other Old Business.
New Business
1. Police Officer Candidate Jamie Lopez – Polygraph results (21-Mar-2024) – Results to Personal History use of illegal or Rx drugs – answer No; Selling – No. Applicant stated has used marijuana 2-3 times. Chairperson Hatchet stated she spoke with candidate J. Lopez, indicating to him that there were inconsistencies in his application and during his oral interview concerning marijuana use. He admitted yes during his oral interview and no on his application. The Commissioners were unanimous that he has failed and will not be considered for the NAPD Patrol Officer position.
2. Kristopher Ragle – Lateral Transfer Patrol Officer Candidate. Psychological testing results – Pass, He is currently awaiting his Polygraph testing scheduled for 11-Apr-2024. If he passes, he will be sworn-in 03-Jun-2024.
3. NAPD Patrol Officer Robyn Stecklein has announced she will be retiring from the department on 01-Jun-2024.
4. The current NAPD eligibility list is down to 2 remaining candidates with 01-Sep-2024 hiring dates.
5. New NAPD Patrol Officer Candidate testing is scheduled with C.O.P.S. testing services 16-Aug-2024 for candidate orientation and 17-Aug-2024 for candidate testing.
No further New Business.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Hatchet presented a motion to adjourn the closed the meeting, a seconded motion was made by Commissioner Jungels; all present in favor – Motion Approved. The Closed Meeting adjourned at 18:30hrs.
