VILLAGE OF NORTH AURORA
POLICE COMMISSION Quarterly Open Meeting
September 5, 2024, at 16:00 hrs.
CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Hatchet presented a motion to commence the 3rd Quarter open meeting of the Village of North Aurora Police Commission, a second motion was as made by Commissioner Jungles; All present in favor of the meeting commencing at 16:03hrs.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners present: Chairperson Lisa Hatchett, Commissioners Phil Jungels and Brian Reid.
Old Business
1. The Commissioners reviewed meeting minutes for the Special Open Meeting held on 04-Apr-2024, the Closed Executive meeting held 18-Apr-2024 and the Special Open meeting held on 06-Jun-2024.
2. A motion was presented to approve these noted meeting minutes by Commissioner Jungels, a second was presented by Chairperson Hatchet, all present in favor.
3. No other Old Business.
New Business
1. On August 17, 2024, the North Aurora Police Department held written testing for Police Officer Candidates that commenced at 07:30am until 11:30am at the North Aurora Police Department Headquarters. The testing was proctored by C.O.P.S. testing services.
2. The Commissioners reviewed the final testing results provided by C.O.P.S. following the testing, the results are as follows:
3. Police Officer Candidate results:
65 candidates tested
49 passed
16 failed
4. Guardian is asking for Power Test Card I Remove from requirement to interview with N, A.P.D. The Commissioners will Review further with Chief DeLeo. and his Assistants.
5. The Candidates, at the time of their interviews, will have 2 weeks to complete their application for employment in full.
6. The N.A.P.D. on Monday 09-Sep-2024 will have an Open House from 18:00 to 21:00 hrs. N.A.P.D for the prospective candidate, N.A.P.D. staff will be present answer any questions they have.
7. N.A.P.D Sergeant Testing will be conducted on 26-Sep-2024 at 09:00hrs. at the N.A.P.D. The testing will be provided by C.O.P.S. testing services.
8. Sargeant Candidate oral Interviews will be held Monday 11-Nov-2024 at a time TBD only if needed.
9. The Commissioners propose that the interviews testing services test the new recruits and promotional candidates – All present in favor.
10. The Village of North Aurora Attorney HAS reviewed the current “2003 RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS’ VILLAGE OF NORTH AURORA STATEOF ILLINOIS” handbook and has advised that changes will be necessary to update the handbook. The Village will hire out clerical assistance to type a proof document for final review and approvals.

Commissioner Hatchet presented a motion to adjourn the 3rd Quarter Open Meeting, a second motion was made by Commissioner Jungels; all present in favor – Motion Approved. The Closed Meeting adjourned at 16:57 hrs.
