2025 North Aurora Days
Community Relations Coordinator Natalie Stevens provided updates on the current sponsorship status. She said emails had gone out to all North Aurora businesses and she brought with her brochures, letters and lists of previous sponsors to give to Committee members to follow-up with. Committee Member Lynn Miller mentioned the local Boy Scout troop wanted to know if they could have a fundraiser opportunity selling bundt cakes as a sponsorship booth. The Committee response was positive to the request.
Stevens updated the Committee on entertainment options and asked for feedback regarding existing options. She reported that unfortunately the arcade setup would not work due to the location limitations, and the Committee was in favor of adding another inflatable instead. She brought up the touch a truck event this year having a sensory period of no lights and sirens and the Committee was unanimously in favor.
The Committee discussed communication day of the event and Committee Member Mark Theis suggested walkie-talkies.
Committee Member Julie Shoemaker said there has been a bit of a snag with implementing the School District 129 event due to the timing of one of their own events that has a lack of people to run a North Aurora Days event. Committee Members discussed having the event take place on scene at North Aurora Days rather than at a school property as Committee members and Village staff may be on scene to assist as well.
With nothing further to discuss the Committee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:32 pm.
Motion to Adjourn: All in Favor
Respectfully submitted,
Natalie Stevens
