AUDIENCE COMMENTS
Steve Sabo, 207 April Lane, North Aurora – Mr. Sabo said that the idea presented last week regarding a cul-de-sac on the north end would eliminate a continuing problem on Grant Street in the morning and afternoon rush hours. Mr. Sabo said that this would be a good idea to block the street off at the north end.

Steve White, 16 Grant Street, North Aurora – Mr. White said that the proposal for making Grant Street a one-way street is an extreme solution to a very limited problem and would create additional problems in terms of access to the west side for the residents and access anywhere during the winter months. Grant asked the Village Board to consider consistency in the enforcement of parking regulations throughout town, noting that there are streets in the Village that are narrower than Grant Street where parking is allowed on both sides.

Nate Stelton, 30 Grant Street, North Aurora – Mr. Stelton said that his concern was about parking. When Grant Street parking was taken away to make way for more traffic as a detour, it was a hardship for some of the residents. Stelton asked why parking on one side of the street was okay in the past and not okay now. Stelton noted some of the negative impacts on the neighbors: 1. residents of Grant Street are not able to entertain at a reasonably large scale since there are not enough places to park, 2. reduction in property values, 3. traffic is worse compared to what it use to be. Stelton added that residents of Grant Street are not able to hold garage sales since potential customers would be unable to park on the street.

Betty Zacharius, 46 South Grant Street, North Aurora – Ms. Zacharius said that parking for her residence is extremely limited and she is only able to fit 2 to 3 cars in her driveway. Zacharius said that the residents would like to have some kind of parking returned back to Grant Street.

Garry Russell, 20 South Grant Street, North Aurora – Mr. Russell said he would like the Village to consider making the south end of Grant Street by the power lines into a cul-de-sac so that the only people who would use Grant Street would be the residents of Grant Street. This would eliminate a lot of the people using Grant Street as a short cut. Russell said that if the cul-de-sac cannot be considered, he would like the Board to consider parking on the east side of Grant Street. Russell also mentioned that Warrenville has speed tables that are very effective in their village.
