NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussion on Mitchell Road Additional Paving
Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock informed the Board that Geneva Construction quoted $15,000 for the additional work of 200 linear feet on Mitchell Road. Village Administrator Steve Bosco said that the Village of North Aurora and Aurora Township went back and forth as to whose road it is. An IGA shows that the Village is responsible for the maintenance up to the bridge. Bosco added said that he has Mike Toth looking for the Annexation to make sure it is recorded properly. This item will be on the agenda for approval at the next Village Board meeting on August 4th. If approved, the paving will be done on August 8th.

2. Discussion on Street Signs
Mike Glock informed the committee that according to the manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the Village needs to have new street signs in place by December 2018. Glock said he has looked into pricing and the cost is not as expensive as originally thought. Steve Bosco noted that there are 690 signs in town. The typical sign is a green background with white lettering. There is an option of blue with white, brown with white and white background with black lettering. Staff requested direction from the committee on what color to choose for the new signs. Bosco said to keep in mind that the Village is trying to unify schemes in town. The Village has a blue & white water tower, blue website and are talking about redoing the welcome signs to match the schemes as well. The cost is low enough that the work can be done in a year. The Committee was in favor of the blue signs. This item will go to the Committee of the Whole for further discussion.
