AUDIENCE COMMENTS
Tanya Berley, 112 Juniper Drive, North Aurora – Ms. Berley asked the Board to consider some ideas regarding long range planning for the Village. Berley proposed that the Village publish a directory of all businesses in North Aurora and have it distributed to every household in the Village. Berley suggested banners on light posts that read “Shop North Aurora” which could be part of a campaign to promote spending the Village’s money in North Aurora. Berley suggested offering businesses space at North Aurora Days or other public events to set up a small display table to promote their services. Another idea Berley suggested concerned the environment. Berley proposed a goal to “go green” as a Village. Berley said the Village could start by changing to fluorescent lighting in public buildings and Staff could come up with ways to cut energy use. Another idea Berley suggested was for the Village to include in their 10+ year plan the land from Route 56 & Route 31 down to the river as one large parcel which could be planned as a center to the Village. Berley said she would be happy to serve in any capacity if the Village pursues any of these ideas, but was most interested in the “go green” goal.
