MARCH 3, 2014

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Berman called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL
In attendance: Mayor Dale Berman, Trustee Mark Guethle, Trustee Ryan Lambert, Trustee Chris Faber, Trustee Mike Lowery, Trustee Laura Curtis, Village Clerk Lori Murray. Not in attendance: Trustee Mark Gaffino.

Staff in attendance: Village Administrator Steven Bosco, Finance Director Bill Hannah, Community & Economic Development Director Mike Toth, Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock, Water Superintendent Paul Young, Village Attorney Kevin Drendel, Village Engineer Jim Bibby.

DISCUSSION
1. Discussion on Revision to Finance Policies Regarding Purchasing and Related Items
Finance Director Bill Hannah reviewed the revisions made to the Finance Policies

2. Discussion on Village Newsletter Options
Currently the Village has a 2-page newsletter that is sent to residents in their water bill bi-monthly. Steven Bosco asked the Board if they were interested in using Neighbors Magazine which is now circulating in the Village and discontinue the paper copy of the newsletter in the water bill. Bosco said the Village posts the newsletter on the Village website and would continue to do so.
Trustee Curtis said she was in favor of using Neighbors Magazine. Mayor Berman said he was in favor of supporting the magazine. Trustee Faber said that residents are used to getting their newsletter with their water bills. Faber noted that when people receive these magazines in the mail they are tossed into the recycling bin without
Berman said it is north aurora only so need to support that. Faber said people get their water bills and they are use to it being in there. Sometimes people get magazines and it goes in the recycling bin without having been reviewed. Faber said the Village would get twice as many people to look at the newsletter if it is in the water bills.

Bosco noted that the Fire District and Library district also put contents in the Neighbors Magazine.

Trustee Lowery suggested the Village place a note in the water bill informing residents that the newsletter will be online and that other information will be found in the magazine.

Motion to adjourn made by Trustee Guethle and seconded by Trustee Lowery. All in favor. Motion approved.
