Temporary Public Works Summer Assistance
The Village of North Aurora’s Public Works Department is looking for two individuals to be part of their temporary, summer seasonal staff. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of flower plantings including watering, fertilization, and weed removal. This position may also be required to perform light landscaping, mowing, park and roadside trash collection, assistance with logistics for special events and other duties as assigned. The position may operate automotive and seasonal equipment including but not limited to light trucks, golf cart-type service vehicles and other Village equipment. Working conditions may include working next to busy roads, variable weather conditions and include some public interaction. Position may be required to work some weekend hours depending on the weather.
Applicants must be eligible for employment in the U.S., possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and pass a pre-employment background check and medical and drug screening.
The hourly pay for this position is $15-$23 per hour dependent on qualifications and the position will work approximately thirty (30) hours per week. It is estimated that this position will work approximately from Mid-May through September but some flexibility with scheduling will be provided. Position reports to the Superintendent of Public Works.
