Do you think your property (or one in your neighborhood) has the prettiest flowers? The most upkept landscaping? Unique features? We want to hear from you!
The Village’s Beautification Committee will be accepting nominations starting today, May 5, for their Summer Landscaping Property Recognition Program, Green Thumb, that will judge the front yard landscaping of submitted properties based on overall maintenance, creativity, and appearance. Residents can nominate their own property or a deserving one in the neighborhood! The Beautification Committee will judge all nominated properties for first, second and third place distinctions and you, the community, will have your chance to cast your vote for the Community Choice award for your favorite home!
All nominations are provided by community members so if there is a home on your street, one that you see while out shopping or commuting, or one you see walking around your neighborhood in the beautiful spring weather, please, share it with us so we can all enjoy it too!
The Beautification Committee will judge each property and will award the top three placing properties Woodman’s gift cards in the respective amounts: $100, $75, $50 and the Community will get to select a property for the Community Choice Award via the Village’s Facebook page for a $25 Woodman’s gift card!
The deadline to submit a property for Green Thumb is Wednesday, June 18. Judging will take place from June 20—June 29, 2025.
Overall Rules:
- Property must be located within the Village of North Aurora
- You may nominate your own or someone else’s property you feel deserves recognition
- ONLY ONE NOMINATION per address please. The Beautification Committee will be judging properties based on criteria; not number of submissions
