2024 North Aurora Days

Community Relations Coordinator Natalie Stevens updated the Committee on several items and brought up a few items from organizations that had reached out that were interested in participating in the event. The Committee discussed allowing a local state representative to have a booth in the non-profit section and said it would be allowed so long as no campaign items or personal items were being given out or discussed. They approved having a Lego Pinewood Derby event at Touch a Truck by Three Fires Council, Scouting America.

Golf carts were discussed and Stevens reported a volunteer reached out and was open to assisting with driving. Administrator Steve Bosco said that staff would be on hand to drive golf carts as needed and the Village was looking to rent two additional units.

Stevens went over the layout, informing the Committee that while a tent was not feasible down by the stage/gazebo due to logistics of vendors and space, picnic tables would be set up in the area to provide some additional seating options below with plenty of tree coverage for shade. The Committee did not like the location of the food tent alongside Village Hall and proposed putting it back to the original spot it was located last year and putting the video gaming truck in that space instead.

Stevens provided the five so far confirmed food vendors for the event and said there was one more yet to be determined vendor. Regarding sponsors, Stevens updated the Committee on the current sponsorship numbers and which businesses had come in. Lynn Miller added that Brother Chimp Brewing was interested in doing potentially a bags tournament at their location and tying it to North Aurora Days.

The Committee discussed the alcohol options and also the previous years history of attendees bring their own liquor into the park. Logistics wise Bosco said there would be less generators in place this year and more spacing and that the shuttle plan is solid with two locations as usual.

With nothing further to discuss the Committee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 pm.

Motion to Adjourn: All in Favor

Respectfully submitted,

Natalie Stevens
