CALL TO ORDER
Trustee Gaffino called the meeting to order.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Sidewalks Policy
Public Works Director John Laskowski stated that the policies he will bring forward to the Village will formalize past practices and provide a better understanding of the operations and services that Public Works provides. The purpose of the policy is to better communicate how and what the department does and to add consistency to the decision making process.
The first policy is for sidewalk repair and replacement. There are two sections to the policy: identification and methodology. Currently, repairs are done through resident requests. A resident will call and someone from Public Works will go out and inspect the sidewalk and determine how severe the hazard. The work can be taken care of in-house or through the leveling program. The leveling program is done each year. This is where the contractor comes out, saws out the sidewalk and grinds down the slab so that it is level.
Each year, the sidewalks that are immediately adjacent to the streets that are being maintained are inspected to determine if they are hazardous. Some of the repairs can also be added to the Road Program. The department will also look at areas that are highly traveled and will prioritize and inspect regularly.
Village Administrator Steve Bosco said that the Village is setting aside $100,000 for sidewalks every year. In the last road program, the Village was able to catch up on the east and west sides of town. This year, the Village will be targeting sidewalk repair along Route 31.
