NORTH AURORA DAYS COMMITTEE MEETING
MONDAY, May 16, 2016
MINUTES
Call to Order
Mark Gaffino called the meeting called to order at 5:35pm. Attached is the sign in sheet with all who were present.
Attendance
Mark Gaffino, Steve Bosco, Bill Hannah, Robyn Stecklein, Rhonda Klecz, Doug Botkin, Chris Faber, Crystal Irlandez, Sarah Deer, Mike Hayes and Kyle Donohue.
Discussion
Kyle Donohue and Mike Hayes are from the Fox Valley Park District. They are working towards having something on Saturday afternoon from approximately 2:30pm-4:30pm. They will be checking out some interactive routines and maybe some summer singers in the age range from 7-12 years old. This will be held at the Clocktower Plaza.
Bill Hannah stated that we have received $24,000 year to date in sponsorship, plus $3,000 pledged. The newsletter regarding North Aurora Days will be in with the water bills.
Crystal stated that she wanted some clarification regarding the TIPS/Bassett certifications. Crystal also was requesting to have a Village employee to assist with the ID check for the wristband sales. Mark Gaffino thought that would be fine.
Rhonda signed a contract with Fundways for the child rides/entertainment. Game truck will return this year, and will be sponsored by the N A Lions Club.
Sarah stated that the softball insurance should be turned in by the end of the week per Bob Strusz.
Doug said the hours of the beer tent will be from 5:00pm-Midnight on Friday, and 2:00pm-Midnight on Saturday, Doug also stated that the Kane Co Chronicle will post information as an in kind sponsorship.
The fishing derby needs to be finalized. Matt Fultz no longer wants to chair that event. Mark Gaffino stated that he would work with Tom Brooks and the Cub Scouts to work on the fishing derby.
Per Mark Gaffino – The beer tasting should be a go at Raimondo’s. Unknown if the bags tournament will be taking place.
Pet Parade will be held on Sunday, Tom Brooks will chair this event.
Chris Faber stated that the 5K, 10K, and Fun Run should be set. Chris wants all the information regarding North Aurora Days, then he will add it to the website.
There is an assumption that the Emergency Vehicle Parade will take place, no communication yet.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the April 18, 2016 meeting were presented and e-mailed prior to this meeting. A motion was made to approve the minutes by Sarah Deer, seconded by Robyn Stecklein. All in favor – motion passed unanimously.
Motion to Adjourn
Motion was made to adjourn at 6:08 pm by Robyn Stecklein, seconded by Rhonda Klecz.
