CALL TO ORDER
Village President Hansen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL
In attendance: Village President John Hansen, Trustees Paul Shoemaker, Dale Berman, Linda Mitchell, Mike Herlihy, Mark Gaffino, Paul Shoemaker. Not in attendance: Trustee Max Herwig.

Staff in attendance: Village Administrator Sue McLaughlin, Wes Kornowske, Finance Director Bill Hannah, Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock, Village Engineer Jim Bibby, Police Chief Tom Fetzer, NA Fire Bureau Chief Mark Bozik, Atty. Carolyn Jansens.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS
Steve Sabo, 207 April Lane, North Aurora – Asked the Board to keep public accessibility in mind when discussing the possibility of going paperless (per item E on the agenda)

Bill Slaker, 129 S. Lincolnway, North Aurora – Mr. Slaker said he uses a lot of paperless information, but would like to ensure that there is a paper trail. Hard copies to be available in the event that something goes wrong with the paperless form.

TRUSTEE COMMENTS
Trustee Herlihy mentioned the nice job done by the water department over the weekend on the two watermain breaks in town.

POLICE STATION SPACE NEEDS
Mr. McLaren addressed the Board regarding the space needs for the police station. Mr. McLaren requested the thoughts of the trustees in order to close out the initial data gathering process.

Trustee Mitchell noted that the plan should functional and not short sited. It should give the Village what it needs now and some room for growth. McLaren said the building will be a two-level building and the Board can decide if it will want to build everything right away or build to add more in the future.

Trustee Berman mentioned that the Village needs to look at what crimes will be in store for the Village and use that information to plan for the future.

Trustee Herlihy mentioned the following items: 1. flexibility for the future, 2. building may need to be expandable, 3. possibility of the Village incorporating its own 911 dispatch facility, 4. facility needs to serve an external community service and be accessible to the public, 5. have a positive impact on the Village, 6. create a strong presence in the Village, 6. cost effective.
