A Heartwarming "Tail" of a Tale as NAPD Officer Adopts Puppy He Found on a Call

Officer Mora Marquez and Lola

As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend we wanted to share a truly heartwarming story with our North Aurora community.

Back in August of this year the North Aurora Police Department received a call about a dog that was found tied to pole at State Street and Roberts Street. Officer Alex Mora Marquez and Officer Ethan Majerus responded to the scene and brought the absolute sweetest girl, a pit bull mix terrier, back to the station while officers tried to locate her owners. No one ever came forward and she was ultimately taken to Kane County Animal Control.

Officer Mora Marquez followed up with Animal Control over the coming weeks to check in on this sweet girl and when she eventually was made available for adoption… she was adopted by Officer Mora Marquez and his wife🥹!

Officer Mora Marquez named this now 8-month old pup Lola and said he was so happy things worked out and that Lola, “completes our home.” He said Lola loves car rides, going to the dog park and sleeping! She’s a bright girl and in just a few months has learned sit, stay, paw, lay and up in both English and Spanish! Officer Mora Marquez also wanted to note Lola loves Officer Majerus too!

We could not be happier for Lola and her new family! Please enjoy some adorable puppy photos provided by the Mora Marquez family and this heartwarming tail (tale)!
