North Aurora is a family-friendly community that is located along the scenic Fox River which provides many recreational opportunities. The Village of North Aurora offers numerous opportunities for residential growth and economic development. North Aurora is a great place to live, work, raise a family, and visit.

Village Board
The Village of North Aurora has a president-trustee form of government. The Village Board of the Village of North Aurora consists of a Village President and six Village Trustees who are elected at-large for overlapping terms of four years. Elections are staggered with three trustees elected every two years. The Village Clerk and Village President are elected every four years. Municipal elections occur in odd numbered years.
As the policy-making body of the Village, the Village Board approves ordinances and adopts resolutions. The Village Clerk keeps all official records and maintains minutes of all board meetings.
Commissions and Committees
The Plan Commission reviews applications for zoning and development and makes recommendations to the Village Board. The North Aurora Days Committee coordinates and plans the annual North Aurora Days Event with the help of volunteers. The Police Commission has authority to appoint all patrol officers to the North Aurora Police Department. The Police Pension Board administer the police pension fund to all members.

All of the ordinances contained herein may not be wholly up to date or accurate. We try diligently to keep them updated, but there is a time lapse between Village ordinance approval and its codification. We are also currently trying to correct any inaccuracies. We reserve the right to clarify the accuracy of the ordinances listed here when necessary.
