COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Berman called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
In attendance: Mayor Dale Berman, Trustee Laura Curtis, Trustee Mike Lowery, Trustee Chris Faber, Trustee Mark Carroll, Trustee Mark Guethle, Trustee Mark Gaffino.
Staff in attendance: Village Administrator Steve Bosco, Village Attorney Kevin Drendel, Community & Economic Development Director Mike Toth, Finance Director Bill Hannah, Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock, Water Superintendent Paul Young, Police Chief Dave Summer.

DISCUSSION
1. Welcome Signs Discussion – Steve Bosco discussed the new welcome signs for the Village. Five (5) locations have been chosen for smaller signs and five (5) locations for larger signs. Staff was in favor of the locations proposed by Staff.
2. Banners Discussion – The Board reviewed banners to be placed on 16 poles in the Village. Most of the trustees were in favor of Banner #1, multi-colored. The second item was the North Aurora Days banners. The Board was in favor of Option 2, multi-colored.
3. Fireworks Discussion – From 2002-2006 the Village had fireworks displays for $15,000 a year. In 2007 and 2008 the cost went up to $20,000. In 2009, the Village joined the City of Aurora at a cost of $4000/year which has now increased to $6000/year.
Bosco said he would provide information regarding cost on alternate dates and bring those back for further discussion at the next COW meeting.
