VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 19, 2009
Call to order – 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Berman called the meeting to order.

In attendance: Mayor Dale Berman, Trustee Mike Herlihy, Trustee Chris Faber, Trustee Mark Guethle, Trustee Bob Strusz, Trustee Mark Gaffino, Trustee Vince Mancini, Village Clerk Lori Murray.
Staff in attendance: Assistant to the Village Administrator Wes Kornowske, Finance Director Bill Hannah, Community Development Director Scott Buening, Public Works Superintendent Mike Glock, Water Superintendent Paul Young, Village Engineer Jim Bibby, Police Chief Tom Fetter. Atty. Drendel arrived later in the meeting.

TRUSTEE COMMENTS
Trustee Guethle mentioned the following items that were discussed at the Municipal League Conference:
1. Shopping within the village in order to keep taxes in the community. Guethle said this notice to residents could be placed on the Village website and in the Village newsletter.
2. Zoom Box email water bills. Zoom Box is a vendor that bills through the email process. Guethle said that there are a few municipalities that are using this in order to save first class postage.
3. Creating decent jobs in the Village, not just minimum wage jobs.
4. Annual visits to the businesses about jobs.
5. Plowing streets so that people can get to work.
6. The idea of the Village having its own legislative caucus.
