Discussion
1. Discussion of North Aurora Days
Jessi Watkins updated the committee on the beer tent, VIP tent, and Run for the Riverfront. Watkins said cans worked out great in the beer tent this year. Watkins mentioned the VIP tent had some sponsors show up this year and that a few residents asked if the public could pay to get into the tent. Watkins also said going forward maybe there could be more snacks, some soda choices, signage, and a bigger VIP tent that could include sponsors, trustees, and a place for the public. The committee was happy to hear that the VIP tent worked well this year. Watkins also mentioned that NOARDA will no long be able to run or fund the Run for the Riverfront race. The committee said they would like to keep the race and would work with NOARDA to transition it as a North Aurora Days event.
The committee discussed the dates and times for North Aurora Days 2020 since the First Friday of August is not until August 7th in 2020. After some discussion, North Aurora Days will remain the first Friday of August and will be held on August 7th, 8th, and 9th. The committee also decided that the event would end at 11pm on Friday and Saturday instead of midnight. The committee will discuss start times for each day at future meetings.
North Aurora Chairman Mark Gaffino mentioned it would be nice to have a car show as part of North Aurora Days. The committee thought that it would be a good asset and a car show could possibly tie into the Sunday Party in the Park event. More discussion on a car show and other events will occur at future meetings.
The committee also discussed the location of North Aurora Days for 2020. One idea would be to see if the event could be held at the Town Center parking lot near Target and JCPenny. Village Administrator Steve Bosco said that staff can reach out to the ownership group for Town Center and see if they would allow the event to be held there. The committee asked staff to look into the Town Center as well as carnival companies to see if any would be available in 2020. If a carnival company would be available, North Aurora Days would most likely need to be expanded to 3 or 4 days.
2. Band Discussion
The committee discussed the bands and start/end times from 2019 and what time slots the bands should play in 2020. The committee concluded the bands should end at 11pm instead of midnight. Gaffino also asked committee members to come up with a few bands that they liked and send them over to staff so a list can be compiled. Staff will reach out to the bands regarding availability and cost. Bands and their time slots will be discussed and selected in an upcoming North Aurora Days meeting.

Mark Gaffino made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:59 p.m., which was seconded by Carolyn Bird Salazar.
Motion to Adjourn: All in Favor

David Hansen
