Citizen Reporting

Welcome to the North Aurora Police Department’s online reporting system.  This system allows you to easily report crimes, extra patrol requests, and crime tip reports when it’s most convenient for you.  You can even upload pictures to supplement your report.  All cases filed using the online reporting system will be reviewed by a supervisor.  Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted by a police officer or detective.  After your case has been approved and entered into our records system, the case report number will be sent to you via e-mail (when applicable).

You will receive a confirmation e-mail after submitting a report.  If you would like a copy of the report for insurance or other purposes, you can obtain a copy by completing a Freedom of Information Act request form.  Additional information on F.O.I.A requests can be found on the Village of North Aurora website.  Completed F.O.I.A. request forms can be mailed, faxed, hand delivered to the police department, or sent electronically to:

Please note: filing a false police report is a crime.

Sometimes victims of minor crimes do not report the matter to police; however, these types of incidents are still important to report. Patterns of criminal behavior can be critical to develop predictive patrols and crime prevention, which enhances the safety and security of all who live, work, visit, and pass through our community.

Officers are still available to meet with you if you would like.  This system is simply another tool to help us provide you with services in a manner that could be beneficial to you.

Is this an emergency?  If yes, please call 911 immediately!

If this is an emergency, or if the crime is in progress, please dial 911 on your telephone to immediately report the incident.  Do not submit an online police report in these instances.

To proceed to the online reporting system, visit and then click the “SUBMIT NOW” button under the option for Citizen Reporting.

WARNING:  Before proceeding, Illinois State Law (720 ILCS 5/26-1) makes it a crime to transmit or cause to be transmitted a false report to a police officer or public safety agency.  In any instance where it is found that this has occurred, the offenders will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  Dial 911 for in progress emergencies.
