Building and Zoning Application Packets
To assist homeowners in preparing for many building projects around the home, we have prepared several packets of information that you may print. If you have any questions please contact our Community Development team at 630-897-1457.
Permit applications, surveys and plans can be sent electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be contacted when your permit is approved via phone or e-mail. Payment for permits and contractor registration can be taken over the phone with a debit or credit card. Upon payment, permits will be e-mailed to you.
Typical projects that require a building permit include:
New commercial buildings and commerical remodeling, new single-family homes and residential remodeling, roofing, siding, driveways, structural modifications, electrical, plumbing, windows, concrete patios, additions, signs, swimming pools, three-season rooms, pergolas, gazebos, gas lines and decks.
Typical projects that DO NOT require a building permit include:
Painting, tuckpointing, wallpaper, flooring, appliance repair/replacement, minor repairs, bird feeders, small playground sets, trampolines, baby pools (less than 2 feet of water), patio umbrellas, arbors, awnings, gutters and downspouts, etc.
